What it is

Family systems — not individual blame.

When one person in a family is struggling — a withdrawn teenager, a child with behaviour changes, a parent and adult child at war — the system around them is always involved. Blaming one person doesn’t help. Understanding the dynamic does. Dr. Priya works with the family as a whole and with individuals within it, creating a map of the communication patterns that have become stuck and helping each person find a different way of being heard. Sessions can include the whole family, parents only, or parent and child.

Parent-teen conflict

Communication breakdown between parents and teenagers. Withdrawal, aggression, and the feeling of being on different planets.

Child behaviour difficulties

Emotional outbursts, school refusal, anxiety, or changes in behaviour that concern you.

Parenting disagreements

Partners who disagree on how to raise children — creating inconsistency and conflict at home.

Multigenerational households

Three-generation families navigating different expectations, values, and ways of communicating.

Sibling conflict

Constant fighting, rivalry, or a sibling relationship that has hardened into distance.

Separation & co-parenting

Parenting together after a separation — keeping the children out of the middle.

I reached out to her during one of the most difficult times of my life, after the sudden loss of my younger brother. In just a few sessions, she created a space where I felt truly seen, heard, and supported. Her empathy, calm presence, and gentle guidance helped me start to process my grief in a healthier way.

Priya mam has been in touch for more than a decade now. I was a school student those days. And today also I follow some of the best practices she shared with me 12 years ago. And those work. Thank you Priya mam.

Priya ma’am is truly humble, compassionate, and above all, someone who values counselling over just treatment. Her guidance has helped me manage my anger and restore peace and prosperity in my life. I feel genuinely blessed and deeply grateful.

Common questions

About family & parenting support

Who should come to the sessions?
This depends on the situation. Dr. Priya may start with parents, then involve the child, or meet the whole family together. The structure is decided in the first session.
Our teenager refuses to come. What do we do?
Starting with parent sessions is often more effective than forcing a teen. Changing how you communicate frequently shifts the dynamic without the teen being in the room at all.
Can Dr. Priya see my child individually?
Yes. Individual sessions with children or teenagers can be arranged alongside family sessions. The child’s sessions are their own — confidential unless there is a safety concern.
What age children do you work with?
From age 6 upwards. Approach and language are adapted fully to the child’s developmental stage.
How many sessions are typical?
6–10 sessions depending on the situation. The first session establishes the plan and who should be involved.
